TUCSON, Ariz. -- Wake Forest freshman left handed pitcher Ben Clayton has been named Louisville Slugger's National Player of the Week along with Rob Henkel of UCLA and Brad Cresse of LSU.

Clayton received the honor as a result of pitching a no-hitter against the UNC Greensboro Spartans last Wednesday. Clayton faced only 31 batters in the contest. He walked four batters and struck out a career-high 13. It was the first no-hitter by a Wake Forest pitcher since Mike MacDougal no-hit Duke last season.

The Deacons, who are ranked 22nd this week by Baseball America, will play again on Tuesday when they host the UNC Charlotte 49ers. The first pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Hooks Stadium.
