  • Freshman Tim Morley started on the mound for Wake Forest -- his 16th start in as many appearances. Wake Forest also started a freshman in the third game of last year's NCAA Tournament when then-frosh Kyle Sleeth was the winning pitcher in an 18-5 win over Tennessee Tech. Morley had his longest outing since pitching a complete game victory against Charlotte on April 23.

  • Jamie D'Antona's first-inning home run was his 19th home run of the season -- the fifth-most single-season home runs in Wake Forest history. It was also D'Antona's 36th home run in his two-year career, ranking ninth in Wake Forest history for career home runs. D'Antona hit five home runs in five NCAA Tournament games last season, and he has two home runs in two NCAA games this year.

  • With four RBI tonight, D'Antona now has 82 RBI on the season -- the second-most single-season RBI in school history. Only Jon Palmieri, who drove in 94 runs in 1999, had more single-season RBI at Wake Forest.

  • Stephen Ghutzman had a career-high six RBI tonight. His previous career-best was 5 RBI at Duke on May 17, which was also his last multi-hit game. He is the first Deacon to drive in six runs since Ryan Johnson against Davidson on May 1.

  • Adam Bourassa earned his 99th base hit of the season. He is trying to become just the third player in WFU history to record 100 single-season hits. Jon Palmieri reached 100 hits twice, in 1998 and 1999. Cory Sullivan also surpassed 100 hits twice, in 2000 and 2001.

  • Tomorrow's game with Richmond will mark the sixth time Wake Forest has played the Spiders in an NCAA Tournament game since 1998. Wake and Richmond met once in 1998 in Gainesville and three times in 1999 in Winston-Salem. In 10 NCAA Tournament appearances, Wake Forest has played only West Virginia (six meetings) as many times as it has the Spiders.

  • Wake's 13 runs were its most in an NCAA Tournament game since scoring 18 against Tennessee Tech last year in Knoxville.
