WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Catcher Dan Conway went 2-for-2 with two home runs and four RBI to lead the Wake Forest Demon Deacons to an 18-7 win over the Pace Setters at Hooks Stadium on Monday.

Ricky Paugh (1-0) pitched four innings, giving up three runs on four hits and striking out two batters to pick up the win for the Deacs. Dan Macom (0-1) took the loss for the Setters, pitching four innings, surrendering 10 runs on nine hits.

After Pace took a three-run lead in the top of the first inning the Deacs came back to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning. The Deacons scored two runs in the second and three in the third to take the lead for good at 8-3. Wake added two runs in the fourth, five in the sixth and two in the seventh and one in the eighth to round out the scoring. Pace scored two runs in the fifth and two in the seventh.

Cory Sullivan, who also pitched the final inning for Wake, went 2-for-3 with five RBI to lead the Deacons at the plate. Chase Voshell also went 4-for-5.

Wake Forest improves to 13-6 overall with the win. Pace drops to 0-4 with the loss. Wake will return to action on Tuesday when they host the East Tennessee State Buccaneers. The first pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Hooks Stadium.
