WINSTON-SALEM, NC--Corey Slavik had a home run, four hits and three RBI to lead the Wake Forest baseball team to a 12-1 win in the Deacs' home opener against the Campbell Camels at Hooks Stadium on Tuesday.

Scott Siemon (1-1) pitched five innings, giving up one run on three hits and striking out three to pick up the win for Wake Forest. Wes Hepler (0-1) gave up five runs on three hits in just two innings of work in taking the loss for the Camels.

The Deacs took command of the game in the first inning, scoring five runs on three hits in the inning. Wake also scored three runs in the fourth, one in the sixth, two in the seventh and one more in the eighth. The Camels scored their lone run in the fourth inning.

Wake Forest improves to 2-2 on the season while Campbell falls to 0-1. Wake will be back in action on Feb. 19 when they host the Liberty Flames. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Hooks Stadium.
