THE BOOK ON HILL: Team captain along with Nick Blue and Ryan Johnson... a control pitcher who is intensely competitive... a finesse pitcher... has a fastball in the mid-80’s, curve, change and cut fastball... a finesse pitcher... seems to get stronger as the game goes along... pitched this summer for the Brewster Whitecaps in the prestigious Cape Cod League... drafted twice by Pittsburgh... perhaps his best asset is his competitive nature... always gives enters the spring as a frontrunner for a weekend starting role.
2001: JUNIOR SEASON
Finished the year with a 3-3 record and a 4.86 ERA... used a variety of roles early in the year but forced himself into the weekend rotation after several outstanding outings in the month of April... defeated Maryland, UNC Greensboro and Liberty... struck out nine Tar Heels in 5.2 innings out of the bullpen against UNC on April 7... got a save for three effective innings against Appalachian State on March 1... had an outstanding stretch of seven games from March 20 to April 13, tossing 30.1 IP with a 1.78 ERA.
KISHWAUKEE CC / SANDWICH HS
Teammate with current Deacon Adam Bourassa... a USA Today honorable mention high school All-American at Sandwich HS for coach Derrick Avery... a three-time MVP... JUCO All-Region first team... fifth in ERA in Div. II JUCO... started 10 games as a freshman and posted a 4-0 record to go with a 1.79 ERA at Kishwaukee for Mike Davenport... struck out 48 batters in 50.1 innings... earned three basketball letters and two football letters in high school.
