Wagner sophomore Alexandra Tomlinson received another academic honor earlier today

May 24, 2007

Staten Island, NY --Wagner swimming and water polo student athlete Alexandra Tomlinson (Telford, PA/Souderton) was named Second Team Academic All-American by ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA as released by the organization earlier today. The nursing major has posted a 4.0 GPA through two years on Grymes Hill.

Tomlinson fresh off an appearance with the water polo squad at the NCAA Championships was a key cog for the 2007 MAAC Champions. Tomlinson tallied 39 goals while adding 21 steals and 15 assists in 28 games played. The Keystone State native was also a big piece of the Wagner swimming attack as she posted the top Wagner times in the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle. She was named team MVP and took second place in the 1650 freestyle at NEC Championships.

Earlier this year Tomlinson was also named to the All-NEC and All-MAAC Academic squads for her respective work in the classroom in relation to swimming and water polo.
