Staten Island, NY --The Wagner women's water polo team was given a send-off gathering by the office of co curricular activities earlier today as they prepare to depart tomorrow for California and the 2007 NCAA Tournament. Wagner will take on Stanford in the first round of the tourney this Friday at 8pm EST.

Head Coach Patrick Beemer and the MAAC Champion Seahawks were joined in the atrium of the Wagner student union by Wagner President Dr. Richard Guarasci and Wagner Athletic Director Walt Hameline. A crowd of loyal supporters and well-wishers also gathered to support the team.

The Seahawks depart for Long Beach, California tomorrow with two days of practice set for Wednesday and Thursday before beginning game play on Friday. Wagner will then play single games on Saturday and Sunday in the bracketed tournament with a return to New York scheduled for Sunday evening.
