Staten Island, NY - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced their weekly water polo awards and the Wagner Seahawks had two players selected. Senior 2M Courtney Crase (Saratoga, CA/Saratoga) was named offensive player of the week while junior goalie Katie Hauck (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) was tabbed for defensive player of the week.

Senior Courtney Crase picked up MAAC offensive player of the week honors after a four goal weekend

Against Villanova Crase scored two goals and added an assist for three points. She also had a steal and drew one ejection in the 13-6 victory. Against Marist she scored two goals, dished out an assist and drew two four meter penalties in Wagner's 9-8 sudden death win over the Red Foxes. Hauck added an assist as she shut down Villanova through three periods allowing just three goals and tallying 12 saves. Against Marist Hauck picked up 10 saves while allowing eight goals in a game that spanned four quarters and three extra periods. Hauck averaged 11 saves per game last week and had a GAA of 5.50.

Crase, Hauck and the rest of the Seahawks (21-12, 6-0 MAAC) are back in action this Saturday when they host both St. Francis (NY) and Siena in MAAC games. The Siena game will begin at 5:30 pm and will also feature the honoring of the Seahawk senior class.
