USAWaterPolo.com award

Staten Island, NY -- Wagner College women's water polo sophomore Billy Hoelck was named usawaterpolo.com athlete of the week earlier today. Hoelck has been a key contributor in Wagner's 13-8 start to the season thus far.

The award which is sponosred by S & R Sport recognized Hoelck for her accomplishments both in and out of the water. The reigning MAAC Rookie of the Year and tourney MVP, as well as current MAAC offensive player of the week, Hoelck leads Wagner in scoring with 51 goals on the year. She ranks sixth in the nation averaging just under two and a half goals per contest. Outside the pool, Hoelck lends her time to many worthy causes. Most recently, she spent her winter break volunteering at an orphanage in El Salvador.

Hoelck and the rest of the Seahawks are in action this Saturday and Sunday at Indiana University where they will attempt to conquer such foes as Indiana, Michigan, and Carthage.
