NEC Volleyball Tournament Central

STATEN ISLAND, NY - One day after posting one of the biggest wins in school-history Wagner was dealt a 3-0 loss at the hands of St. Francis (PA) in the final match of the regular season at the Spiro Sports Center. The Seahawks (9-22; 4-4 NEC) lost to the Red Flash (19-13; 7-1) by scores of 30-25, 30-27, 30-23. Despite the loss Wagner will play in the first round of the NEC Tournament at Long Island next Saturday, Nov. 18. The Seahawks will be the No. 6 seed and play No. 3 Robert Morris in the first match of the single-elimination tournament at 12:30 pm.

The Seahawks gave the Red Flash all they could handle as each game went down to the wire, before SFPA showed Wagner why they were the second-best team in the conference during the season.

The Seahawks hit an efficient .055 with only 23 attack errors, however SFPA hit .200 with just 21 errors.

Sophomore Brandy Barnett (Claremont, CA / St. Lucy's Priory) continued her All-NEC caliber season with a game-high 13 kills and 10 digs for her team-best 11th double-double of the year. Playing in her final match on Grymes Hill, senior Lydia Emnott (Neenah, WI / Neenah) led the Seahawk setting-unit with 17 assists. Also playing in her final match on the hill was senior Kerry Krohn (Massapequa, NY / Massapequa), who had nine kills and eight digs to go along with two aces.

SFPA was led by Anne Roosevelt and Kayla Greenwalt, who each had 10 kills.
