Staten Island, NY - Wagner lost to the NJIT Highlanders for the second time this year by a 3-0 score at the Spiro Sports Center. The Seahawks fell by scores of 30-21, 30-27 and 30-18 and are now 3-17 on the year while the Highlanders improve to 12-20.

The first game was a back-and-forth affair that featured 10 ties and three lead changes before NJIT asserted control. With the score tied at 14-14, NJIT ripped off an 11-2 run to go in front 25-16 on their way to the 30-21 victory.

Trailing for most of the second game, the Seahawks made a late charge. With the Highlanders up 27-21, Wagner cut the deficit to 29-27 with a 6-2 spurt, highlighted by two Ashley Pepper (Fr., Washington Court House, OH / Washington Senior) kills. It would go for naught as Katlyn Lewis quelled the rally with a game-winning kill. For the game, the Seahawks hit a blistering and match-best .316, led by Pepper's seven kills on .333 hitting.

In the third game, with the score tied at 12-12, NJIT used a match-clinching 18-6 run to win going away 30-18.

Pepper paced Wagner with a match-high 12 kills, on .114 hitting, with seven digs while sophomore Alex Klein's (Cresent Springs, KY / Notre Dame Academy) chipped in with nine kills and nine digs. Sophomore Gabi Hilk (Wilmington, DE / Alexis I. DuPont) (18 assists) and freshman Erin Henneberger (Livonia, MI / Ladywood) (13 assists) led the setters.

Katrina Hornstein led NJIT, which out-hit Wagner .298-.097, with 11 kills, on .688 hitting.

Wagner is next in action on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Fairleigh Dickinson, starting at 1:00 pm.
