Baltimore, MD - The Wagner Seahawks dropped their sixth straight match by a score of 3-0 to Loyola (MD) at Reitz Arena. The Green & White dropped a hard-fought game one 30-28 before succumbing by scores of 30-26 and 30-24 in the last two games. With the loss the Seahawks are now 2-7 while the Greyhounds improve to 11-7.

Down 12-6 in game one, Wagner ripped off a 13-5 run, highlighted by three Ashley Pepper (Fr., Washington Court House, OH / Washington Senior) kills, to go up 19-17. Later with the game tied at 21-21, Loyola (MD) went on a 6-1 spurt to assume a 27-22 lead on their way to a 30-28 win.

Up 10-8 in the second game, the Greyhounds put together a 11-2 spurt to go up by an insurmountable margin of 19-12. Loyola (MD) would hold on for the 30-26 win before taking the third and final game 30-24.

Loyola (MD) outhit Wagner .150-.111 and was aided by eight service aces and 11 Seahawk service errors.

Standing out in defeat was Pepper, who recorded a career-high 16 aces on a career and game-best .333 hitting. Sophomore Alex Klein (Cresent Springs, KY / Notre Dame Academy) registered her third straight double-double with 10 kills and a career-high 21 digs. Sophomore Gabi Hilk (Wilmington, DE / Alexis I. DuPont) recorded her first career double-double with 30 assists and 10 digs, rounding out the top-performers for the Green & White.

Nina Camaioni had 16 kills and 10 digs to pace to lead the Greyhounds.

The Seahawks begin their pursuit of a second-straight NEC Tournament berth against Long Island on Monday, Oct. 1 at 7 pm.
