Box Score

Staten Island, NY - Navy (4-1) handed Wagner (0-1) a 3-0 loss by scores of 32-30, 30-13, 30-15 at the Spiro Sports Center.

In the first game, Navy scored five straight points to open the match on its way to a 28-21 lead and looked to be in command. Wagner countered by ripping off four straight points, highlighted by strong serving from sophomore Sam O'Brien (San Francisco, CA / Sacred Heart Cathedral), including one ace. After the Mids temporarily stopped the bleeding, Wagner scored four straight points to tie the match at 29-29. A pair of service errors by both teams kept the score tied at 30-30 before Navy took the game with two straight kills. Wagner's slow start and eight service errors were the difference in the first game as the Seahawks hit .154 compared to just .023 for Navy.

The Mids as Navy took control in the second and third games winning by scores of 30-13 and 30-15, respectively, to complete the three-game sweep.
