Staten Island, NY - The Wagner Women's soccer team won the NSCAA Academic Team Award, as announced by the NSCAA. College team academic award winners needed a 3.0 team Grade Point Average (GPA) or higher to qualify for the award. With a collective GPA of 3.33, the team achieved well above the award criteria.

There were 295 teams, this year, awarded along with the Seahawks.

"I am very proud of the student-athletes for earning this award," said Head Coach Mike Minielli. "It is a major achievement to maintain this level of academics with the demands of participating in intercollegiate activities.

"Wagner College is all about the commitment to academics while you are a student athlete, and this award embodies that philosophy."
