Originally hailing from Erie, Pennsylvania, Van Parys begins her second season on Grymes Hill after spending 2006 as an assistant coach for her alma mater, Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa. where she had graduated and played one year prior.

A four-year starting goalkeeper at Allegheny during her playing days, she too has had extensive experience with instructing, particularly the difficult task of minding the net. Last season she spent time coaching not only Allegheny's women's goalkeepers but also proved an asset to their men's team and goalkeepers as well.

She now resides in Staten Island.
