Wagner Women's Golf Finishes In 2nd Place At Home Quad

Junior Emily Noelker shot a 96 behind freshman Helen Otis' 93 on Tuesday

Oct. 25, 2006

Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College women's golf team ended a one-round quad match in second place yesterday at their home course, the Richmond County Country Club.

Due to one school canceling, the quad turned into a three-headed match between Farleigh Dickinson University, Long Island University, and the host Seahawks. LIU wound up on top at day's end shooting a combined 369, Wagner trailed the Blackbirds with a tally of 386, while FDU came in third with a team score of 508.

Freshman Helen Otis (Ho Ho Kus, NJ/Northern Highlands Regional) lead the Seahawks in the one-round match - the first time in her career she has done so - shooting a 93.

Junior Emily Noelker (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) was next with a round of 96. Freshman Jennifer Petrotta (Staten Island, NY/Susan E. Wagner) orchestrated a tally of 97, just behind Noelker, while freshman Allison Amador (Middle Island, NY/Longwood) shot an even 100 on the day rounding out the Seahawks.

The Seahawks final match of the fall season comes this weekend when they travel to Connecticut to compete in the Sacred Heart Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
