TELFORD, Pa. - Lehigh's Don Mershon Invitational has been cancelled due to heavy, flooding rains throughout eastern Pennsylvania. In all, 28 men's and women's teams were slated to compete in the thirteenth annual event, which was scheduled to tee off Sunday afternoon following a practice round on Saturday.

In the Lehigh Valley alone, the soaking rain storm brought over ten inches of rain during a 24-hour span to the area surrounding the Lehigh University campus. Situated in Telford, Pa., Indian Valley Country Club is located about 45 minutes from Lehigh's campus in Bethlehem. The deluge in that area forced the cancellation of the tournament before it ever got underway.
