Sept. 24, 2006

Princeton, NJ - The Wagner College women's golf team placed 12th out of 13 teams this weekend at the Springdale Golf Club in the annual Princeton Women's Invitational.

Junior Emily Noelker (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) was the low Seahawk in the clubhouse at the tournament's end turning in an impressive overall two-day scorecard of 160 - with an 82 on the last day of competition and a notable score of 78 the first day - good enough to place 19th in the 13-team event.

Freshman Allison Amador (Middle Island, NY/Longwood) was next, firing off an 89 and 90 on the links for a combined score of 179, good enough for a tie for 51st. Freshman Jennifer Petrotta(Staten Island, NY/Susan Wagner) racked up a two-day score of 191 putting her alone at 60th place while junior Sara Mooney (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) rounded out the Seahawks by shooting a combined score of 256 (126/130) and a tie for 65th place.

The Seahawks next trial on the course comes October 15 when they compete at the Lehigh Don Mershon Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa.
