Staten Island, NY - Wagner women's basketball sophomore guard Andrea Reed (Pocomoke City, MD / Pocomoke) was named to the PrestoSports/Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Honor Roll, announced Monday, Jan. 21.

Reed paced Wagner with a team-best 14 points and seven rebounds with two steals in 38 minutes of action at Monmouth (1/14). She leads the NEC and is ranked 19th nationally in with 5.4 assists per game. Reed is also atop the NEC with 2.5 steals per game and is shooting a team-best 41.7 percent (48-115) from the floor while averaging 8.6 ppg. During NEC play, she leads the Seahawks in scoring (10.1 ppg) and assists (5.3 apg) while pulling down 5.3 rpg.

Founded for the 2004-05 season, the Player of the Week Award is granted on a weekly basis by the New York Area Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. Each week, each of the nearly 75 schools that play college basketball in the Tri-state area have the ability to nominate one male and one female student-athlete, based upon their on-court accomplishments over the previous seven days. An esteemed panel of eight media members votes to select from the nominations the most outstanding player. Any player who receives any votes, but are not named the Player of the Week, are then named to the Honor Roll.

Wagner will next play at Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 4:30 pm.
