Charlottesville, VA - The Wagner College Wrestling team lost their first three matches of the new season today at Memorial Gymnasium on the campus of the University of Virginia. The defeats came at the hands of Virginia (52-0), Virginia Military Institute (28-18), and Anderson (25-22).

In their narrowest defeat against Anderson 141-pound red-shirt senior Mike Tutunjian (Ridge, NY/Longwood), 157-pound junior Sean Quinn (Beach Haven, NJ/Southern Regional) and 174-pound freshman Sam Hoerdemann (Apex, NC/Cary) all came out victorious, yet it was not enough to gain the win.

In their ten-point loss to VMI it was 125-pound red-shirt sophomore Richard Englehardt (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park), 149-pound red-shirt senior Patrick Larkin (Danbury, CT/Danbury) and 174-pound freshman Sam Hoerdemann (Apex, NC/Cary) who added to their win column.

The Seahawks next match comes a week from this Sunday when they host Boston University and Delaware State at the Spiro Sports Center for their home-opener.
