Philadelphia, PA - The Seahawks wrestling team competed at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships hosted by Drexel University in Philadelphia this weekend. Freshman Nick Magaraci (Norwood, NJ / Old Tappan) won a first round match in the 165 lbs weight class for the Seahawks.

Magaraci defeated sixth seeded Jon Divello of James Madison University with a pin in 3:52. He would then fall to the third seed, George Mason's Steven Tisdell by a score of 14-4.

After Day One the Seahawks stood in 10th place overall with 5.0 team points.

Other wrestlers in action for Wagner included junior Justin Ensign (Cherry Hill, NJ / Cherry Hill East) who fell to Nathan Patterson of Binghamton 4-2 in the first round and then falling to BU's Roberts in 6:54 in a consolation match. Junior Patrick Larkin (Danbury, CT / Danbury) was defeated in 5:20 in the opening round to second seeded Ryan Hluschak of Drexel before a consolation loss to Nick Pullano (ODU).

At 133 sophomore Joe Eurell (Jackson, NJ / Jackson) was handed a defeat by Bryan Matsura of BU in 2:45. Adam Amster (Concord, MA / Concord Carlisle Regional) wrestling at 174 fell in 1:59 to JMU's Brian Anderson while senior John Cichon (Mount Marion, NY / Saugerties) was defeated in 4:10 to Nick Ciufo of Rider.

The Championships continue on Saturday.
