Boston, MA - The Wagner College Wrestling team was on the short side of a CAA match against fellow conference foe Boston University over the weekend at Case Gym, falling to the Terriers, 56-0.

The Seahawks now move to an overall team record of 0-13 (0-8 CAA) on the year while the Terriers find themselves in the thick of things at 6-5 (4-3 CAA).

Boston University pinned four Seahawks and Terrier Mike Roberts earned a technical fall.

Abbie Rush opened the dual-meet with a pin in 5:13 over Seahawk red-shirt freshman Nicholas Keshecki (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial), as the Terriers jumped out to an early 6-0 lead. Rush controlled the match from the get-go with two takedowns and a near fall. He took a commanding lead with a reversal and never looked back the rest of the way.

Joey Whitaker earned the Terriers' second win by pinning freshman Joe Cipriano (Staten Island, NY/Monsignor Farrell) in 2:53. Whitaker never trailed picking up most of his points on takedowns and reversals, while minimizing Cipriano to escapes.

In the closest match of the dual-meet, Orey Hall of Boston U. and the Seahawks' red-shirt freshman Angelo D'Amico (Kenilworth, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) went the distance in the heavyweight showdown as Hall came out on top by a slight 6-5 decision. D'Amico took an early lead but was eclipsed by Hall with an escape then gave up two points on a takedown as the sophomore held off his final comeback attempts.

The Seahawks now look forward to this Saturday when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. to take on host Duquesne and Eastern Michigan.
