Hampton, VA -The Wagner Wrestling team captured its third win of the year yesterday with a 22-20 defeat of the Apprentice School in a consolation bracket match at the Virginia Duals. They would go on to fall short in the match for third place - thus placing fourth - losing 30-13 to SUNY-Brockport.

In the victory to the Apprentice School, it came down to a clutch win by the Seahawks' senior 285-pounder John Graeffe (Emmaus, PA/Scranton Prep) in the final bout of the match, as he pinned Josh Seal in 2:11 giving Wagner the six team points they needed to come out ahead by two.

It was Graeffe's second win of the year. His first came the previous day in the match against St. Andrews.

Other Green and White contributors in the triumph Saturday was Graeffe's classmate Mike Tutunjian (Ridge, NY/Longwood) at 141 - who would wind up winning three out of the four bouts he would have in the weekend - as well as junior 157-pounder Sean Quinn (Beach Haven, NJ/Southern Regional) who won for the ninth time this season.

The Seahawks now look forward to the New York State Collegiate Tournament which begins this Friday in Buffalo, New York.
