Emmitsburg, MD - The Wagner College men's lacrosse team fell in their final game of the 2007 season, a MAAC Conference match-up this afternoon at Waldron Family Stadium to the host Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers (5-9, 5-4 MAAC) by a score of 9-6. The Seahawks finish the year with a record of 0-15, 0-8 MAAC.

Wagner jumped out early on the Mountaineers taking a 3-0 lead into the beginning of the second period with scores coming from junior attack Andrew Daly (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-DeWitt) - who finished in a tie for the leading goal scorer this season with sophomore attack Jeff Policicchio (Novi, MI/Novi) with 12 - , sophomore attack Evan Shull (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue), and junior midfielder Anthony Camacho (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale).

The second period, however, the Mount awakened as they would outscore the Seahawks 4-1 during that time with the only Green & White goal coming from junior midfielder Mike Hess (Potomac, MD/The Heights School) with 5:29 left until halftime.

Both teams in a stalemate at four goals apiece at the half, but the Wagner defense couldn't keep the Mount's offense in check once again for a second straight period as they would make a slight 2-1 run in the third and have a one goal edge going into the fourth at 6-5.

The Mountaineers took that one goal advantage after junior Ryan Martin (Florham Park, NJ/Bayley Ellard) made it a tie game one more time when he took a Jeff Policicchio pass and made it a score with 5:13 left in the third.

Unfortunately for the Seahawks, in the last period they could only muster up one goal - coming with 8:16 left from sophomore midfielder Brian Poissant (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) - and the host Mountaineers added three more to give them a win with the final, 9-6.

In his final game in the cage for the Wagner Seahawks senior goalkeeper Ian Gallagher (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) racked up an impressive 18 saves playing all sixty minutes.
