April 10, 2006

Final Stats

Center Valley, PA - The Wagner College men's golf team placed 19th out of 21 teams this weekend at the Center Valley Golf Club in the annual Lafayette Spring Invitational.

Due to rain, play was suspended on Saturday and resumed on Sunday where it became a "winner-take-all" smorgasbord over 18 holes.

Junior Chris DeCarlo (Manchester, CT/Manchester) was the low man in the clubhouse at the day's end turning in an impressive scorecard of 77, good enough for a tie for 43rd overall out of the 109 golfers that competed.

Freshman Christopher Fourman (Greenville, OH/Greenville) was next, firing off an 80 on the links good enough for a tie for 51st. Senior James Dougherty (Saugerties, NY/The Pendleton School) racked up an 84 putting him in a tie for 82nd, while freshman Chris Meehan (Scotch Plains, NY/Morristown Beard) shot an 87 and tied for 98th.

Freshman Matt Wagner (State College, PA/Huntington Area) rounded out the group shooting a 93 on the day.

The Seahawks next trial on the course comes April 25 when they compete in the St. Peter's Invitational in Neshanic, New Jersey.
