April 2, 2007

Lakewood, NJ - The Wagner College men's golf team sits at 10th out of 10 teams after the first day yesterday of the two-day, second annual Monmouth University Hawk Invitational at Eagle Ridge G.C., a par-71 6,525-yard course.

The Seahawks will finish up with their final round this afternoon. Sophomore Matt Wagner (State College, PA/Huntington Area) was the low man in the clubhouse at the day's end, turning in a scorecard of 82 - good enough for a 30th place tie among all the golfers competing.

Sophomore Chris Meehan (Scotch Plains, NJ/Morristown Beard) was three strokes behind Meehan with an 86, in 43rd place overall, while freshman Kyle Karker (Skaneateles, NY/Skaneateles) shot a 97, in 50th place.
