Wagner concludes its 2007 season at 3-7 Jacksonville. A victory would give the Seahawks a final record of 7-4 and mark the program's first seven-win season since 2002. With a winning season already clinched, this year's team has shown marked improvement over a year ago. In 2006, Wagner won its first four non-conference games before dropping all seven Northeast Conference (NEC) contests. to finish 4-7, 0-0 in the NEC. This season, Wagner is 6-4 overall, 3-3 in NEC play. Wagner's formula for success has been a tremendous running game led by senior RB Jason Butler (Syracuse, NY/ Henninger, the nation's fifth-leading rusher at 147.5 yards/game, a stout defense, that is ranked No. 14 in the nation, and stellar special teams play, led by senior kicker /punter Piotr Czech (Keyport, NJ/ Keyport) who drilled a career-long 56-yard field goal last year. Butler has rushed for 100 yards or more in all 10 games this season, including a pair of 200-yard efforts. The 10 consecutive 100-yard game is both a Wagner and an NEC record. Defensively, the Seahawks are led senior LB Bryan Brand (Placerville, CA/ Santa Barbara CC) who is 20th in the nation in tackles with 10.4 per game. The Seahawks are coming off a 23-20 home loss to Saint Francis (PA).
