Staten Island, NY - It's Senior Day on Grymes Hill as 15 Seahawks will be honored in a pre-game ceremony prior to suiting up for the final time in the Green & White of Wagner. The Seahawks, ranked No. 8 in The Sports Network Top-10 Mid-Major Poll, look to improve to 7-3 on the season and make it a memorable Senior Day when they host NEC rival Saint Francis (PA). The Red Flash come into the game 1-7 on the season and are coming off a 47-17 loss to Monmouth. The Seahawks and Red Flash have played every season since 1992 and Wagner holds a 14-2 lead in the series. Last season, the Seahawks dropped a 34-14 decision in Loretto, PA. Saint Francis won the first-ever meeting between the schools by a count of 21-18 on Sept. 19, 1992. The Seahawks then went on to win the next 14 games in the series prior to last season's road defeat. The lone win for the Red Flash this season was a 35-30 decision over Sacred Heart on on Oct. 27. Despite the tough season, the Red Flash are receiving tremendous support as last week's Homecoming crowd of 2,031 vs. Monmouth marked the largest crowd in the history of DeGol Field. Last week vs. La Salle, senior RB Jason Butler rushed for a career-high 269 yards on 26 carries, eclipsing the century mark for the ninth consecutive game, in leading Wagner to a 28-0 win over the Explorers. Butler also scored on touchdown runs of 75, 29 and 10 yards. Butler is now fourth on the Wagner all-time single-season rushing list with 1,353 yards and is seventh on the school's all-time career rushing list with 2,088 yards.
