Staten Island, NY - The NEC announced their weekly cross country award winners earlier today and Wagner College freshman Jen Wejsa (Wantage, NJ/High Point) was recognized as rookie of the week.

Wejsa was bestowed the honor following her performance at the CCSU Mini-meet where she completed the 3200 meter jaunt in a time of 12:24 which was good for 35th place. Wejsa has competed in all but one race for the Seahawks this season as they prepare for the NEC Championships.

Next up for the Seahawks are the aforementioned NEC Championships this Friday at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY. The women's race will begin first at 12:45 pm followed by the men at 1:30 pm.
