Somerset, NJ - The Northeast Conference (NEC) announced Wagner freshman Derek Rammelkamp (Miller Place, NY/Millerplace) was named Rookie of the Week, as released by the league office.

Rammelkamp ran in the Metropolitan Championships this past weekend at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, NY, coming in 60th place and was the third Seahawk to cross the tape behind senior Mouhamed Halwani (Staten Island, NY/Xaverian) and junior Brian Halling (Amherst, NH/Souhegan)

"Derek is improving each week," said head coach Joe Stasi. "He is having a phenomenal season."

This is Rammelkamp's second Rookie of the Week award this season, earning his first after a stellar performance at the Stony Brook Invitational in September.
