Bronx, NY -- The Wagner College cross country team was back at Van Cortlandt Park earlier today for what seemed like the 10th time this season; it was really just the fourth. However, this go-round they were taking part in the ECAC/IC4A Championships. The Green & White only brought a limited contingent to the race and therefore did not qualify for a team score.

In the men's race, the IC4A University Championships, Wagner had two runners competing in the five mile jaunt. Junior Allen Koehler (Okeana, OH/William Henry Harrison) nailed down 48th place with a time of 27:28.4. Meanwhile freshman James Johnston (Middle Island, NY/Longwood) snatched 67th place clocking a time of 27:50.6.

As for the women's race, the ECAC University Championships, the Green & White put three runners in the 5K stroll. Sophomore Ashley Mallen (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) led the trio in 83rd place at 20:44.0. Just missing out on cracking the top 100 was freshman Jen Wejsa (Wantage, NJ/High Point) who came through the chute in 101st place at 21:13.5. Right on her proverbial tale was classmate Jenna Naglieri (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) in 135th place but only second behind at 21:50.7.

This race concludes the cross country season for the Wagner Seahawks. The indoor track and field season which features many cross country runners will jump off on December 4 at the highly anticipated Seton Hall Open in South Orange, NJ.
