Joe Stasi enters his 11th year as head coach of the Wagner College Cross Country and Track & Field teams. Under Stasi's guidance the Seahawks will look to be competitive in the Northeast Conference Championships in both Cross Country and Track & Field, with the largest team Wagner has ever seen. During Stasi's tenure he has guided his athletes to 25 indoor and 19 outdoor records. He has also overseen one NCAA qualifier, three NCAA regional qualifiers, two cross country team academic all-americans, and one track team academic all-american award. In addition to his coaching duties at Wagner, Stasi is also an Adaptive Physical Education teacher in the New York City Public School System. A 1988 graduate of Kean College in Union, New Jersey, the Native Staten Islander received a Master's Degree in Physical Education from Nova University, Naples Florida, in 1991, and a Master's in Special Education from Wagner College in 1999. Stasi initially remained in the Sunshine State as an In-School Suspension Supervisor at the Pine Ridge Middle School in Naples before joining the Wagner Athletic staff in 1996. Stasi also served as an assistant coach for the Monsignor Farrell High School Track & Field team from 1987-1990. Stasi currently resides in the Travis section of Staten Island. |
