OREM, Utah - Utah Valley will close out its 2007 season by hosting the Division I Independent Championship on Friday and Saturday.

The Wolverines, the #1 seed overall, will face Providence on Friday at 1pm and Texas-Pan American at 6pm in Pool 1 play. The winner of Pool 1 will play in the championship on Saturday at 6pm against the winner of Pool 2, which includes CSU Bakersfield, NJIT and Providence.

With one win during the tournament, Utah Valley (18-10) will set a new school record for wins in a season. The Wolverines went 18-11 in 2005 when they won the Independent Championship.

That season also produced the highest winning percentage (.621) in school history. Currently UV is at a .642 winning percentage and two wins this weekend would clinch a new school record.

Utah Valley is 6-0 this season against D-I Independents; 2-0 vs. CSU Bakersfield and Texas-Pan American and 1-0 against Chicago State and NJIT.

Last time out, the Wolverines lost in four games to Nevada. In that match Camie Manwill had 17 kills while Allyce Wilson had 24 digs to lead UV.
