Koelliker, Taylor Named to All-Academic Team

Division I Independent Volleyball All-Academic Team

OREM, Utah - Two Utah Valley State women's volleyball players were named to the Division I Independent All-Academic Team on Wednesday. Sophomore's Lacee Koelliker and Krystal Taylor were two of the 15 total players selected to the team.

Koelliker, who has a 3.932 GPA in elementary education, leads the team with 12 double-doubles. She has been solid distributing the ball all year long, averaging 10.92 assist per game. Koelliker was named Division I Independent -€śSetter of the Week-€ť two times (September 21, and October 12) this season. She was named the Utah Valley State Scholar of the Month for the month of September.

Taylor, who carries a 3.518 GPA in communications, has played in 17 of 19 matches this season. In 58 total games she is third on the team averaging 2.50 kills per game. Taylor had a season-high 19 kills against Cal Poly (9/17/04) and tallied 18 kills against Long Island (10/15/04). She is one of four Wolverine players to record a double-double this season (12 kills, 10 digs against Westminster).    

The D-I Independent women's volleyball All-Academic team was selected by sports information directors at member institutions. Nominations from each school were accepted for student-athletes who had at least a 3.2 cumulative G.P.A., had reached at least a sophomore athletic standing and were a starter or key reserve for the team.
