Wolverines Host In-State Rival Dixie State

Location: Orem, Utah What's on Tap: The Wolverines and Rebels were each members of the SWAC conference in the NJCAA ranks before Utah Valley's jump to NCAA Division-I athletics in 2003 and Dixie's jump to D-II competition this fall. During the junior college era, Utah Valley State held a 70-11-1 record over Dixie State all-time. But the Rebels won the final jc game between the two on September 7, 2002 in St. George, 3-1. Wolverine Update: UV was swept in its first two matches, against host San Jose State and Cal State Northridge. Junior Jessica Endres was named to the All-Tournament team for the Wolverines. Scouting the Opposition: Cidney Judkins leads Dixie with an average of 4.14 kills per game. Dixie State is in its first season of a transistion from junior college athletics to NCAA Division-II athletics. It is similar to the move that Utah Valley State made, with the difference being the Wolverines jumped to Division-I. Last Time Out: Brooke Adams tallied a season-high 16 kills for the Wolverines helping UV improve to 8-6 on the year. Camie Manwill and Jessica Endres recorded 11 kills apiece to compliment Adams. Endres was named to the All-Tournament team. The Wolverines out-slugged Harvard .331 go .096 and almost doubled up the Crimson in kills 57-32. CS Northridge (9-16-06): Camie Manwill had a team-high 13 kills and finished with 12 digs to record her eleventh double-double of the year. She has played in 12 of UV's 13 matches and has notched 11 double-doubles. Ashley Dallin ended up with nine kills and nine digs and Jessica Endres added eight kills. Defensively Chelsea Baugh dug up 17 balls. San Jose State (9-15-06): Camie Manwill recorded her team-high tenth double-double of the season against SJSU tallying 11 kills and 17 digs. Jessica Endres contributed a match-high 14 kills to round out the UV offensive attack. The Spartans out-hit UV .287 to .164 on the night. The Wolverines fought hard in games one and three taking both sets to the end before SJSU prevailed. SJSU had three players with double-figure kills with Jennifer Senftelben leading the way with 13.
