Manwill Named Independent Offensive Player of the Week

OREM , Utah - Utah Valley State sophomore outside hitter Camie Manwill has been named Division I Independent Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week after her performance last week in the Sun Devil Classic. Manwill had a big weekend for the Wolverines and was named to the Sun Devil Classic All-Tournament team. She finished with 63 kills in three matches, averaging 21 kills per match and 5.25 kills per game against Loyola Marymount, Arizona State, and Northeastern. She also averaged 4.75 digs per game and recorded double-doubles in each match tallying 20 kills and 23 digs against LMU, 15 kills and 11 digs against ASU, and 28 kills and 23 digs against NU. In the NU match she broke a school record with 103 attack attempts and was two kills shy of a school record with 28. This season, ten Division I Independent volleyball teams have joined together to have Player of the Week awards. Those teams are IPFW, New Jersey Tech, North Dakota State, Providence, Savannah State, South Dakota State, Texas-Pan American, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Utah Valley State and Winston-Salem State. Awards are voted on by participating team sports information directors and released at the beginning of each week. The Wolverines prepare to travel to Florida this weekend to compete in the Central Florida Fall Classic.
