OREM, Utah - Jenni Clough, Utah Valley's all-time leading goal scorer, was named the United Soccer Conference's Offensive Player of the Year as she led the Wolverines to their first USC Tournament Championship this season. The junior from South Jordan, Utah, scored eight goals in 2007 including three in the USC tournament and one in the tournament final. Clough's eight goals, 18 points and 57 shots all led the conference. She also added two assists and 31 shots on goal. Clough was named USC Player of the Week once early in the season. She scored two goals against Howard and one goal against South Carolina State early in the season to break the school record for career goals. Her 20 career goals are seven better than any other UV goal-scorer. Clough headlined three Wolverines named to the First Team All-United Soccer Conference team as Brooke Salcido and Kelly Vide were also selected to the team. The postseason awards were voted upon by the six USC head coaches and presented at a postseason banquet last week. |
