Wolverines Host South Dakota State

Orem, UT- The Utah Valley State soccer team hosts South Dakota State on Senior Day Friday at 3 p.m. The Wolverines are 5-8-1 while South Dakota State is 4-9-2. The Wolverines hold a 2-0 record in the young series between the two schools.

Friday will be the final home game for Alyssa Woodbury, Courtney Robbins, April Graf, Kelley Thompson, Natalee Davis, Brooke Roberts and Rebecca Petersen. Woodbury is the lone four-year player.

"They have a done good job of setting an example to the underclassmen," Utah Valley State coach Brent Anderson said. "They have started a tradition of winning and competing hard. I hope those behind them will follow in those footsteps and hopefully add to it."

Utah Valley has been off for 13 days. Its last game was a 2-1 home loss to North Dakota State on Oct. 7. The day prior to the North Dakota State game, UV defeated Utah State 2-1 in Logan. Robbins leads the Wolverines offensive attack with five goals and two assists. Petersen is the teams' second leading scorer with three goals and two assists.

South Dakota State's four wins have come against IPFW, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa and College of St. Mary. They have played several teams close, losing five games by one goal. Kelsey Worcester leads the Jacks in scoring with four goals and three assists. Chelsea Goosen has four goals and two assists.

Following Friday's game the Wolverines play at SUU on Saturday at 2 p.m. Utah Valley also holds a 2-0 series lead with SUU.
