OREM, Utah - Utah Valley start its most road-heavy portion of the season as the Wolverines travel across the country to play three United Soccer Conference opponents. Wednesday, the Wolverines will start their road trip at Howard University in Washington D.C., UV will then travel to Farmville, Va., to play Longwood and South Carolina State on Longwood's campus. "We our concentrating on our next game," head coach Brent Anderson said. "We are working on what we need to do to go to Howard and get a win. After Howard, we will concentrate on our next opponent." Utah Valley will be facing off against two of its three opponents for the first time when the Wolverines play Longwood and South Carolina State. The Wolverines have played Howard once, a 4-0 victory in the 2005 United Soccer Conference Tournament. This season will be the first time in which UV plays all six teams from the USC. After the long road trip and five non-conference matches, UV will play two in a row at home as the Wolverines will welcome NJIT and Delaware State in back-to-back weeks. After the long distance trip to the East Coast to take on the three USC foes, the Wolverines will return home to take on Mountain West Conference power, Utah. The home match breaks up streaks of three and four consecutive road matches. After taking on the Utes in Orem, UV will hit the road for four consecutive matches when they head south to Dixie State and UNLV. A week later, UV will travel to the Dakotas to play former USC opponents North Dakota State and South Dakota State. |
