Wolverines Lose 3-1 to Weber State
Aug. 17, 2006 Ogden, UT - The Utah Valley State soccer team lost a 3-1 exhibition game to Weber State on Thursday. Weber State led 1-0 at half time and added two goals in the second half before the Wolverines were able to score their goal in the final minute of the game. "I am happy with the effort in the second half," Utah Valley State coach Brent Anderson said. "We just have to come out prepared to play. In the second half we started to get players forward and that shows by the goal we got late in the game." Weber State scored its first goal in the 11 th minute of the game. Its two second half goals came in the 50 th and 60 th minutes. Weber State out shot UV 22-6 for the game. Courtney Robbins scored the Wolverines goal in the final 30 seconds of the game on a rebound shot that was taken by Mallory Schott. "We kept fighting until the end and that is evident by our goal we got late," Anderson said. Utah Valley State closes out its exhibition season on Saturday at 1 p.m. with a home game against Westminster. |
