OREM, Utah - Three different Wolverines netted goals as Utah Valley led a majority of the game on its way to a 3-2 victory in the United Soccer Conference Championship match.

This season marks the first year that the Wolverines have won the tournament.

"We put a complete game together," UV head coach Brent Anderson said. "This is an amazing group of girls. I am really happy for them."

After an even start of the game when the ball remained in the middle of the field with few serious attacking opportunities, UV pushed the ball forward. Taryn Smith dropped the ball into Athena Bradshaw at the top of the 18. Bradshaw fired a cross and found Jenni Clough streaking in from the opposite side. Clough found the net to give the Wolverines a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute.

Longwood responded when Lauren Trizna took a free kick from 40 yards out. The kick soared past all of the Lancers' attackers and past UV's keeper into the net to tie the score.

"At half I told the girls that we only had 45 minutes left in the season," Anderson said.

After out-shooting Longwood 7-4 in the first half, the Wolverines stepped up and fired eight shots to the Lancers one in the second.

UV didn't waste time to re-gain the lead in the second. Katey Turner gathered the ball dribbled past a defender and fired a shot from the top of the 18 over Longwood's keeper's head into the net just 24 seconds into the half.

The Wolverines added the decisive third goal in the 74th minute when Kendra Buchanan launched a throw-in into the box and found Andi Bagdan by her self. Bagdan put a left-handed chip past the keeper for the game-winner.

The Lancers added a late goal when Alex Myers fired a shot from 20 yards out on the left angle the found its way inside the far post.

The Wolverines finished the season with a 6-13-1 overall record and won six of seven games against USC opponents.
