No. 27 Loyola Marymount Tops UV 4-1
Oct. 26, 2006 Los Angeles, CA- The Utah Valley State soccer team lost to No. 27 Loyola Marymount 4-1 on Thursday. The loss dropped the Wolverines to 6-10-1 on the season while Loyola improved to 9-2-5. Jamie Bell gave Loyola an early 1-0 lead in the 10th minute when she scored off a pass from Katie Osborne. The Lions upped their lead to 2-0 in the 33rd minute on a goal from Lauren Shanklin. Trailing 2-0 going into the second half, Courtney Robbins netted her seventh goal of the season in the 47th minute to cut the LMU lead to 2-1. But a minute later Bell scored her second goal of the game to up the Loyola lead to 3-1. The lead was then extended to 4-1 in the 53rd minute. Utah Valley was out shot 15-7. Utah Valley State closes out its season next week when they play in the United Soccer Conference tournament in Washington D.C. |
