Wolverines Fall 1-0 to South Dakota State

Orem, UT- The Utah Valley State soccer team lost a tough 1-0 home contest to South Dakota State on Friday. The loss dropped the Wolverines record to 5-9-1 while South Dakota State upped its record to 5-9-2.

Utah Valley struggled getting into any kind of offensive flow during the game as they were held to five shots and only one shot on goal.

"There are days when it just isn't your day," Utah Valley State coach Brent Anderson said. "The effort was there but it just wasn't happening. To have only one shot on goal is disappointing."

South Dakota State scored the games only goal in the 25th minute when Chelsea Goosen booted the ball over the top of Wolverine goalkeeper Kelley Thompson inside the box.

Friday's game was the final home game for Alyssa Woodbury, Courtney Robbins, Brooke Roberts, April Graf, Rebecca Petersen, Natalee Davis and Kelley Thompson.

The Wolverines hope to get back into the win column on Saturday when they play at SUU at 2 p.m.
