UV Drops 2-1 Game to North Dakota State

Orem, UT- The Utah Valley State soccer team lost 2-1 to North Dakota State on Saturday. The loss drops the Wolverines to 5-8-1 and 0-2 in United Soccer Conference play. "It's a tough loss," Utah Valley State coach Brent Anderson said. "We had our chances today. We created a lot of opportunities. Today we were our own worst enemy. We created their goals for them." Utah Valley out shot North Dakota State 10-7 and had six shots on goal to NDSU's three. Jenni Wright, Chelsea Stone and Courtney Robbins all had three shot attempts. It was Robbins who scored the Wolverines goal in the 56th minute off an assist from April Graf inside the box. Robbins scored two goals yesterday in a win over Utah State. North Dakota State tied the game at one in the 65th minute when Ashley Chandler scored off a corner kick from Sarah Penzer. Danielle Thompson then netted the game-winning goal in the 70th minute when she scored off a pass from Becky Iwanicki. Utah Valley has 13 days off before they host South Dakota State on Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. |
