Box Score

FARMVILLE, Va. - A total team effort led Utah Valley to its second win in three East Coast matches, a 6-0 rout over South Carolina State.

The Wolverines, now 2-6-1 (2-1, United Soccer Conference), got six goals from six different players. UV has now scored 12 goals in its past three games, the most goals scored over a three-game stretch since 2005.

"We had a game plan going in and the girls came out and executed it perfectly," UV head coach Brent Anderson said. "It was a great defensive effort. We had great organization that let us get the ball forward into the attack."

Utah Valley's attack produced huge results. The Wolverines out-shot SCSU 27 to four. Of UV's 27 shots, 16 were on goal.

The scoring started early for Utah Valley as the Wolverines found the goal just 10 minutes into the game. Andi Bagdan received a nice chip pass from Shantae Adams and beat the SCSU goal keeper for her first career goal.

Just under five minutes later, Adams found the goal for the third time this season when she headed a cross from Katey Turner into the goal.

The Wolverines went ahead 3-0 when Turner scored her third goal of the season. Turner scored on a put-back off a goalie save. Turner led the way for UV as she fired a career-high six shots, four on goal.

Just before halftime, Jenni Clough scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season when she found the net from just outside the 18-yard box. Nicole Archibald recorded the assist on the play.

In the second half, the Wolverines added two goals late. Chelsey Ellison scored her first career goal in the 75th minute when Kelly Vide dropped off a one-timer to Ellison who found the net.

Vide scored the sixth goal of the game when she dribbled through the 18-yard box and fired a shot that found the net.

UV will return home to play in-state opponent Utah Oct. 3. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
