Idaho State Scores Late Goal to Knock off Wolverines

Orem, UT- The Utah Valley State soccer team lost to Idaho State 2-1 on Saturday. The loss drops the Wolverines to 4-7-1 while Idaho State snapped a four-game losing streak to increase its record to 4-6. Idaho State took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute when Michelle Okumura headed in a corner kick from Annamarie Hofstetter inside the box. Utah Valley tied the game in the 62nd minute when Courtney Robbins blasted a shot in from just outside the center of the 18. Jenni Wright had an assist on the play. Utah County native Natalie Graham tallied the game-winning goal for the Bengals off a pass from Kilee Quigley in the 80th minute. Idaho State out shot UV 10-8 and had nine corner kicks to the Wolverines four. Robbins was the only player for the Wolverines with more than one shot attempt. The Wolverines did out shoot Idaho State 5-4 in the second half. The Wolverines return to action next Friday when they play at Utah State at 3 p.m. A day later they host North Dakota State at 11 a.m. |
