IPFW ends Wolverines' two-game winning streak with 2-0 shutout

Fort Wayne, Indiana - IPFW scored two second-half goals on its way to a 2-0 win over Utah Valley State Saturday in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Ashley Hansbury got the Mastodons (2-2) on the board in the 63rd minute, on assists by Jenny Thornton and goal keeper Shannon Lynn. Hansbury then assisted on the other goal when she set up Danielle Orlandella at the 67:49 mark. The loss evens Utah Valley State's record at 2-2 and ends the Wolverines' early season two-game winning streak. The contest was a rematch of the 2005 United Soccer Conference Championship which the Mastodons won, 2-1, last November. Up next for the Wolverines is the home opener on September 9th at 3pm against in-state opponent Dixie State. |
