Women's Golf Signs Three to Letters of Intent
Nov. 22, 2006 Orem, Utah - Utah Valley State women's golf coach Denise Larson has announced the signing of three high school players. Jade Dickson (North Salt Lake, Utah/Woods Cross HS), Abbie Archibald (Blackfoot, Idaho/Blackfoot HS) and Taylore Collie (El Dorado Hills, California/Oakridge HS) all inked letters of intent and will join the women's golf team in the fall of 2007. "Overall I'm very excited about the signings because it really is our first high school recruiting class," said Larson. "I think all three will be strong contributors to the team during their time here. The have a ton of potential and they're all willing and excited to work really hard." With no high school girls golf teams in Utah, Dickson plays at Woods Cross High on the boys team and was a regional qualifier as a senior. At the Utah girls state championship, she placed 6th out of 46 golfers and took 1st place in the girls division at the Westridge Junior Golf Classic. Archibald is a four-year varsity team member at Blackfoot High School. She qualified and competed at the 2006 Idaho 4A State Tournament and is the 2006 Women's Blackfoot City Champion and the 2005 Idaho State 6th District champion. Collie is a member of Oakridge High School's varsity team. She was named to the All Sierra Valley Conference team in 2006 while helping her team qualify for the state playoffs.
