OREM, Utah - Utah Valley State head women's golf coach Denise Larson has announced the first annual Business Women's Golf League to be held for two weeks in July and the first week in August at Cedar Hills Golf Course.
The Business Women-€™s Golf League lesson program has been organized and specialized for the specific needs and interests of business women. The lessons will cater to golfers of all levels.
The goal of the league is to teach the fundamentals of the game of golf, familiarize women with the golf course, and help each golfer feel comfortable in any golf setting by teaching golf course rules and etiquette. We also hope that through involvement in this program golfers will be able to network with other successful local business women and create new business ties.
Sessions:
Three afternoon and evening time slots are available for your convenience. Registration per session will be limited to 25 women, on a first come first serve basis. Please be sure to list your first and second session choices. More sessions will be added if needed.

Tuition:
The golf league will cost $200 for over 12 hours of golf instruction.
League Schedule:
(JULY 12-AUGUST 3, 2006 - Cedar Hills Golf Course - Pick two out of the three sessions to attend)
Session 1- July 12, 19, 26, and August 2 (Wednesday evenings, 5:30-7:00pm)
Session 2- July 13, 20, 27, and August 3 (Thursday evenings, 3:30-5:00pm)
Session 3- July 13, 20, 27, and August 3 (Thursday evenings, 5:30-7:00pm)
League Instructors:
League instruction will be provided by experienced professional golf instructors. We are pleased to have heading our staff UVSC-€™s women-€™s and men-€™s golf coaches, Denise Larson and Tommy Johnson. Coach Johnson is currently also the Director of Instruction at East Bay Golf Course. He has 9 years of professional playing and teaching experience. Coach Larson has been coaching at the High School and College levels for 6 years. She also organized and instructed the Junior Golf League and Women-€™s lesson
program last summer at Cedar Hills Golf Course. In addition, you will be privileged to receive instruction from each of the local club pros of our host facility. At Cedar Hills we will feature Mr. Troy Watkins, at Talons Cove Mr. John Beesley, and at East Bay Mr. Kean Ridd.
Equipment to Bring:
League members should bring their own set of golf clubs, golf balls and tees. If you currently do not own or have access to clubs, a limited number of rental sets will be available for your use during the first three weeks.
Wolverine Golf Classic:
The annual fundraiser golf tournament for the UVSC Athletic Department is held at Talons Cove GC on August 9th. The tournament entry fee is normally $125.00, but if you register for the Business Women's Golf league you can receive a discounted price in the Wolverine Golf Classic for only $100.00! The tournament is a relaxed, fun filled, 4-person scramble with prizes awarded throughout the day.
