Thatcher Leads Wolverines at Day One of North Texas Golf Classic

Denton, Texas - Echo Thatcher shot an opening round 78 (+6) and is tied for 35th after one round at the rain-shortened North Texas Women's Golf Classic. The Wolverines shot 330 as a team in the season-opening round and are in 15th place at Robson Ranch Golf Club in Denton, Texas. The tournament was originally scheduled for 54 holes but rain forced it to be trimmed to 36 holes with the final 18 taking place Tuesday morning. Ashley MacKay shot an 82 for UV while Kasey Larson shot 84. Freshmen Abbie Lei Archibald (86) and Jade Dickson (90) round out the Wolverine golfers. Oklahoma City University shot a team score of 299 and leads the tournament by one shot over Sam Houston State. Texas-Pan American's Ale Carney shot a 1-under, 71 and leads the individual race by one stroke over Sam Houston State's Stefanie Page. |
